SDSU General Scholarships
Stephen F. Briggs Scholarships - The Briggs Scholarship is worth $6,500 annually. These awards are renewable for four years of full-time undergraduate study. Twelve Briggs Scholars (six engineering and six non-engineering students) are selected each year after a personal, on-campus interview.

National Merit Scholarships - A minimum guaranteed scholarship of $3,500 will be awarded to National Merit Semi-finalists who list SDSU as their first choice institution with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. These scholarships are renewable for four years.

Leaders for Tomorrow Scholarships - Leaders for Tomorrow is an exciting scholarship program designed to award high school students based on a combination of a minimum ACT composite score of 27 and a 3.7 gpa or graduating in the top 15% of the class. The program guarantees a $1000 scholarship for students who do not receive other SDSU academic scholarships and is based on a combination of class rank or GPA and ACT composite score.

Valedictorian Scholarships - SDSU guarantees a $1000 scholarship to valedictorians who do not receive other SDSU academic scholarships.

Wintrode Challenge Awards - This award is given to help students who may not have outstanding scholarship records but who show promising characteristics for academic and career success. Five $750 awards are given each year and are renewable for four years. A separate application is available from the Admissions Office.

Campanile Scholarships - These scholarships are available to high school seniors and are based on academic achievement. The awards vary in amount.

Butler , Amdahl and Clarkson Scholarships - These major award programs offer numerous scholarships to incoming freshmen who are academically gifted and/or talented. Awards range from $200 to $750.

Nichols Scholarships - Awarded to members of the Yankton Sioux Tribe. Students must indicate tribal membership on application.

Native American Scholarships - Awarded to Native Americans who demonstrate academic achievement and potential for academic success. Students must indicate tribal membership on application.

NICHOLS SCHOLARSHIP –Awarded to the top 1 % of the Yankton Sioux.  $2,000. renewable for 4 years

Thurgood Marshall Scholarships - This scholarship is awarded to African-Americans as identified on the application. Students must demonstrate academic achievement and potential for academic success.

Larson Manufacturing Scholarships - This award provides five $1,000 scholarships to first-year students whose parents are employed in the building products industries as manufacturers, wholesalers, retail distributors or merchants.

Athletic Scholarships - Awarded for outstanding performance in men's and women's varsi athletics. Amounts vary. Contact the Department of HPER and Athletics, SDSU.

Music Scholarships - Music scholarships are awarded to students in any major. However, they assume a student will be active in a performing music group. A separate application and a personal or taped atidition are required. Contact the Music Department, SDSU.

ROTC Scholarships - ROTC scholarships pay full tuition, fees, books and an allowance of $100 each academic month. These awards are renewable for four years of full-time undergraduate study.
Army - The application deadline for the four-year Army ROTC scholarship is December 1 of your senior year. Contact Army ROTC, Professor of Militarv Science, SDSU.
Air Force - The deadline for application of the four-year Air Force ROTC scholarship is December 1 of your senior year. Contact Air Force ROTC, Professor of Aerospace Studies, SDSU.

Criteria Scholarships for new first-year students - no separate scholarship application is required. However, you can write the scholorship name on top of the SDSU scholarship application. View Criteria Scholarships
